The Friendly Dog Club - 30 Pawsome Years

The Friendly Dog Club is based in Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire, UK. It started in 1993 in nearby Highcliffe in Dorset and has been an integral part of the local community for three decades.

In this film, the history of the club, the challenges and triumphs are discussed by some of the current training team. With the help of archive footage they delve into the stories that make the club such an inspiring and positive organisation.

Learn about the early days of the club, discovering clicker training. Hear about the Seminars that drove the move to positive, kind training techniques. See the incredible Line Dance routine that led to a massive gathering of dogs at The Variety Club of Great Britain in 1999 with TV personality Esther Rantzen. See the Line Dancing dog team's appearance on TV in the 1990's with a drag queen!

The film also looks at the charitable out reach of the club, from helping educate youngsters with Prevent-a-bite and KAD to helping DoE students and training pets to be assistance dogs with Dog A.I.D., the Friendly Dog Club has seen it all.

See footage from many years of carnivals and demos in all kinds of weird and wonderful fancy dress!

The stories are many and varied but the love of dogs and what they can do for us shines through this documentary. We hope you enjoy it.
