Roxy and Ruby, who is now 6 months old, are firm friends. They race around the garden jumping into the paddling pool and playing tug of war. It’s great to watch. I certainly couldn’t play with Ruby the way Roxy does, but it is always fairly controlled in the way they interact with teeth, feet and bodies. Amazing to watch!
Ok another small incident involving chicken on Thursday. So I’m making a curry, chicken thighs (luckily filleted) all chopped and ready to go in the frying pan. Hubby called me to do something with the phone and yes you’ve guessed it, on my return the whole packet of chicken had gone!! I did just catch her in the act for which she got a scolding, but really it is me who should have been told off. What self respecting hungry puppy could resist!!!! I was angry but more with myself. A learning curve, I had forgotten about temptation as Roxy just wouldn’t jump up to the work surfaces! I don’t remember how she learnt not to or my others come to that. So more vigilance and don’t leave raw meat within easy access and walk away!!!
Now you see it and now you don't!!
The good news is she didn’t get her 7pm meal that night!!!! and I have now put her on two meals a day. So a bit of a result with the change in routine. She still has the same amount of food but in two meals.
It is still very exciting and rewarding to have this new life to shape and train. An immense responsibility to get it right. She is such a loving dog and gives us so much pleasure and fun!!
